Hi!It seems to be difficult to find new pistonrings for this kit.Is there anyone who's bought 'em somewhere?
Piston to cylinder clearance,is 0.003-0.005 ok? Thank you!

.003 to .005 is real loose. I run forged pistons at .002 or .0025.

I think what you have is the Henry Abe 900 kit. This might help get you a little closer. If/when you find a source for the rings please let me/us know!!! You might give one of the ring manufacturers a call. I'm looking at the Honda page on Total Seal's website. It lists rings for the 836 Wiseco & JE kits but nothing larger. There is a note that states "If you don't see it, call us. We can do it". You can probably send a pistion to them and have it fitted. I just found a new Henry Abe 900 kit (NOS) and the pistons have HAINDST (perhaps HenryAbeINDuSTry) on the inside of the skirt. The ring boxes are labeled HA67-std. The bottom ring is a one piece unit rather than 3 piece. About all this tells us is the pistons are 67mm.

Measure the ring grooves and let us know what they are. Probably around  1.5mm 1st and 2nd ring and 3mm oil

I think what you found on Axel's website are the specs for piston clearance when installing new sleeves and then boring these sleeves for the 67mm pistons. Cast - Forged ??? I'm not sure. The following attachment was all that came with my NOS Henry Abe 900 kit. These kits have been referred to as 888, 890, 900 just as Honda referred to our 736 as a 750.
Hope this helps.

They probably are cast in which case they should be run even tighter than forged (.0015)

My wife kills me soon... :'( Ex owner was happy with this engine.."It's okay, maybe little too much oil consumption.."
It's very nice summer now in Helsinki, nothing gets me down! ;D Thanks for answers Mick and everyone!

Mike,
How can I determine whether they are cast or forged? I found a F on the outside surface so do we assume it is forged?
The top 2 ring grooves are .05" & the bottom is .10"

Jarkko68,
Surely you're not going to turn a perfectly good 900 into a 836 ?! Whats a little oil. I'm sure Mike or I could use those pistons rather than them being used for ash trays. We accept donations. Anyway, get it put back together and do some riding.

Basically every aftermarket piston is forged. It's reasonably cheap to make a forged piston in small quantities while the setup cost to make cast pistons is quite high, so a small casting run is not economical.
