Stupid Ignition Wiring Questions
« on: May 11, 2009, 06:56:47 AM »
I'm working on a '77 CB750F I purchased in March. It was running but needed a lot of maintenance due to a long period of neglect and DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner) syndrome. It has a Dyna III ignition and 3 ohm Dyna coils. This past weekend I was working on straightening out the ignition wiring (Hondaman resistor pack coming). I replaced the spark plug leads and redid the ailing wiring connections between the Dyna box, the coils, and the trigger.

Here are my questions...

1)  Is the left coil for cylinders 1 & 4, and the right coil for cylinders 2 & 3?

2)  Is the primary wire color for the 1 & 4 coil yellow and the one for 2 & 3 blue?

Thanks for the help,

Joe

Thanks for the confirmation. The only (legible) wiring diagram I have  is from a Clymer's manual and it agrees with your findings, but the two spare coil sets I have were wired opposite of each other. Happy to hear the Dyna installation procedures agree too.

Appreciate the help!
