Here is what I had read..

BMW AG Merges with H-D Motor Co   :o

which  (I had a hunch), was probably a prank, but was not posted on the forum I saw it on till late afternoon.

I searched around on the net last nite & found nothing.
It was very well written piece and originated from the BMWMOA site. I went there just now and part of it was up, the headline, I think, and a note that said, story was not available.

So I will go get the eggs & put them on my face I guess.. :-[ :-[

Sure but not matter how cool it looks I'm sure it'll....

vibrate like hell
fall apart at a moments notice
be the fodder of oh so many crappy tv shows
leak like a porn start after a...............contest
and cant forget the endless following of riders wearing over priced gear to protect them from their newly aquired purchase when they bounce it off the pavement.

But it'll definately have wings on the logo.

HD would axe everything honda makes except the big sellers.... and use the $$$ for further v-rod development and maybe make some quick release luggage for the ultra classic.

You can kiss all the Honda v-twins, and anything vaguely familiar, goodbye.

I gotta say it,

some folks on here , certainly are not open minded enough to really let  themselves enjoy the whole spectrum of motorcycling.

in another (ehem) older post, it was mentioned that there is an established history among HD and the Italians.

so, is it better for MV to go under? HD was in a similar situation, people who make golf balls bought them, and as a result they lived to fight another day.

now, the people who use those golf ball are buying Harleys. thus, the cycle (get it? motorcycle?!) of life is complete.

hey, and i'm drinking Italian coffee! coincidence? i think not.

yes... here I am to shed some dim light...

My dad, as recently as two months ago, worked for BMW/Ducati in Colorado Springs.
Harley bought that particular store with intent to merge.
Since then, many at the BMW/Ducati location have been laid off.
The store was in a horrific location as far as location, location, location is concerned, so let's hope they come up with something.
So far, they have not, they've only run the shop into the ground.
