Problem with #4
« on: October 22, 2005, 02:05:39 PM »
I did a complete tune up and got the timing right on.  Idles OK.  However, #4 is significantly colder and is firing only intermittently.  When setting the timing I used #4 and did get a spark.  I disconntected all leads to plugs, unscrewed the plug cap and made sure that the connections were clean.  While running I disconnected the plug wire on #4 and it was a noticable difference.  This could explain the general lack of power...Any suggestions ???

Is your compression even across the cylinders?
Have you synchonized the carbs?
Are all the idle screws set the same?
Are all the slow circuits in the carbs clean and clear?
Are there any leaks in the runners between carb and head?
