I will jump in as another data point but others have said it corrently many times before me.  THE PLANE WILL TAKE OFF!

The forward motion of the plane is dictated by the thrust produced from the propeller.  The wheels have absolutely nothing to do with a planes ability to take off/fly, but rather just to support the plane and allow it to "slide" as the propeller pulls it forward.  If a plane's movement was caused by its wheels being powered, then the plane would not take off.

Think of it like this:
You have an RC car on a treadmill with a string tied to the front ot it.  The treadmill could be moving as fast as it can but if you pull on that string, the car will move toward you, opposite of the direction of the treadmill belt.  The wheels will just spin much faster than the actual forward movement of the car.  That string that you pull is essentially the thrust produced by the propeller.

No matter what speed the wheels are going...the plane will be PULLED/PUSHED forward by it's propulsion system whatever it may be...the wheels will just be spinning faster when it takes off....

Riddle me this, if the treadmill STOPS all of a sudden, will the plane also stop all of a sudden? Like a bike on a treadmill or a person running on a treadmill?!

EDIT: So if the treadmill does stop all of a sudden will the plan SUDDENLY be airborne as well?!

Also, the Y2k jet bike, they can't dyno that bike, if they put that on a treadmill that matches the speed of the wheels, that bike will STILL move forward, it'll never "take off" but the bike wheels won't care, the bike is being propelled forward!

If you do go to a Presidential food fest, is it mandatory to throw up before, during, or after the function?

Is hurling the same as lift-off, despite the means of conveyance?

This debate reminds me of one I had years ago with a coworker.  He was convinced that every pilot since the Wright brothers had it wrong.  He believed planes should take off downwind, since the tailwind would allow the plane to accelerate faster, thus (in his mind)getting off the ground sooner.  In spite of me and others trying to set him straight, I don't think he ever saw where he went wrong in his thinking.  It was a little frustrating until I saw the humor in it.  The interesting thing about this was that he was an air traffic controller.
