I'll run it through the bead blaster hef and detail it a bit. My friend has all sorts of 750 stuff...unfortunately a lot of it has been in his garage and barn. I was looking at a 73mm piston with a Golden Rod today when I picked that barrel up. He has a Dunstall black body set (tank, rear section etc). I'm not interested in it....anybody out there interested? I'll have to take a ride to his house (in NH) and see what he has. He had quite a bit of CB stuff from hillclimbing etc.

All I gotta say is you're a real MF'r, you know that don't you?!  ;)   Great score! How about if I trade you a set of NOS 73.75mm ~ 10.5 pistons for the head labor?! They've been fitted with 3 piece oil rings too. I can put them in the same box with the head.

Seriously!

I'm going to hang on to it Frank. I'l use it with that 1000cc kit Jay is working on. I'll have to resleeve it for that.

Wouldn't it be nice if a simple honing would allow those 73.75mm pistons to fit?! Guess we still need word from Jay, huh!! Thought he told us in late December that he'd have the info right after the 1st. Hope he didn't mean 2010. Now it's next week 2 weeks ago. I'd rather spend it with him rather than pay my tax bill. Anticipation sux  ::)

Nothing like a spare engine. What tha hell, you might as well build a spare bike.

Keep us posted on any more goodies you run across.

Mike, could you explain for the rest of the class why these cylinders are special? I know the RC makers mark but I (and perhaps others) would like to know in more detail what we're looking at....

Once you get over 1000cc, the sleeves are visible between the fins, they are prone to cracking the cylinder block, distortion, and oil leaking.

So the solution is a stiffer stronger cylinder, without fins though, cooling suffers a bit, but it will stay together and should not leak.

Nice piece if you want big motor, I myself would not sleeve down, unless  sleeves are wore out..

Couldn't have stated it better myself. The sleeves in it are bored for 73mm. Jay's pistons will be smaller thus the replacement of the sleeves. I'm very interested in the head gasket he will offer.

I'd be interested in any other goodies you may find that you have no interest in.  Also interested in the Dunstall set.
