Lucas Tailight Question
« on: April 03, 2009, 08:22:25 AM »
I just bought the small lucas tailight. It only has 2 wires coming from the tailight. My OEM harness has three wires. The light has a black and red wire. The Harness has Green/Yellow (stop), Green and a brown. How do I wire the tailight?

the casing should be "ground" (green)
the stop light (assuming you have a 1157 in there) should be green w/yellow
the tail light should be brown..

evo, this helps. Thank you. It is a 1157. The bike is a 77 750f. Does it matter which the brown and green/yellow connect to, red or black on the tailght?

Are we talking "Lucas, Prince of Darkness"?  Wasn't their philosophy that man shouldn't be out after dark?

I am gonna plug mine in this weekend, already have it mounted.  But it should not take long to figure out the wiring, just two wires - not like the hornets nest in the headlight bucket.

If you beat me to it, post your results here, lol.

Hook up either wire to it. Your brake wire should be the bright filament. If not...reverse it.
