CB750 Starter Motor cable route

 Can anyone tell me where the cable from the Starter motor exits the engine case

1. Is it from the notch in the starter housing

2 Or the slot in the engine case

I don't have my bike with me right now but I think the oil pressure sender wires go into the starter box thru the top notch with a similar shaped grommet and all the wires incl alt and starter go uot thru the slot near the sprocket.

Hi 77,

Rhino's got it.  The roundish shaped notch is for the oil pressure sender unit's cable.  The larger slot shape is other wires bundled together near the chain/sprocket cover and the joining side case cover.

That's right, the oil pressure switch wires use the top notch and all the wires go out via the slot   ;)

It should exit in between the  "or from here" and the vin # There should be a little tunnel and a cut out in the front sprocket cover. The other notch is for the oil pressure switch thing. Did differant year 750's have the vin in differ spots on the case? Mine's vertical.

Thanks for the help guys, I was not sure as when I got the bike the starter and oil switch wires were already removed.

PS Model is 1977 K7

Nice lookin' engine you have there! (well, it'd be an engine when it's back together, anyway  ;D)  I like the engine stand too.  Do you have any more pics of that?

Thanks Steve, The engine is almost back together (at least the bottom end) only have to bore out the cylinders and it will be finished.

As for the stand I seen some photos on the web somewhere and copied it, made it from some left over 20mm & 25mm box section and some 25 x 6 flat bar. Only took about 4 hrs to make, I can rotate the engine 360 deg so it makes life easy.
