My carbs are wearing FUR !!, Ugh......

The carbs, upon being opened, show a full fur coat on the 'ceiling' of the float chamber ( ie, underside of the carb body ). I've looked in Carb FAQ's , but it's mostly about cleaning jets etc.,.....this is on my 'new' k8 'project' bike....of course for 'project' actually read ' needs- everything- done- to- it!....Anyone find a good solution for removing this oxidation ?

Check the tips and tricks section, the last entry was 'soda blasting carbs'.   Sounded like a neat, cheap fix.   Claims it removes oxidation from aluminum, but not steel.   If I new how to paste links, I'd do it here.

If you can't get a razor in there, maybe you could Nair it? ;D ;D ;D

Before you destroy the fungi, send a sample to the local microbiologist.  An organism that eats petroleum would be valuable to the spill cleanup industry!  ;D

Thanks, lads, I looked at that Baking Soda link and it's AWESOME !!, can't wait for my next-door neighbor to get home so I can get a loan of his compressor and make my own Soda Blaster...! I'll post before and after pics. when I get to try it .......or will I just wait and see if the naked P.E.T.A.  Fur Protest Chicks turn-up outside my garage?, ya  never know !

Petroleum eating organisms may also have a disastrous effect on your gas milage too!

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
