absolutely amazing.....love it....

only thing i would be kinda worried about with the holes is your bar that holds the back brake in place...if that thing snaps due to the holes it will lock your rear wheel up,cause the braking plate can turn and tightens up the rear brake, thus locking the rear wheel....then again it's hard to judge by a picture how strong that bar is....i'm sure you know what your doing there......but the looks are awesome........might steal some of those ideas if you don't mind..(my bike is in my shop for some further mod's)..... ;D ;D ;D

Marti, I want you to know, I like you an awful lot, but guys have said far less and left wearing their drinks on their shirts.

martino-
that bar is 3/8'' 60/61 aircraft, and doesn't bend without some real muscle on it. I'm gonna do a different one though- the pattern doesn't match the one I was doing on the bike.
anybody want it?

steal all the ideas you want, it's not patented.
just don't forget where you got em.  :D  ;D

I'm gonna try to drop the ears on the stock headlight brackets next.
need to find someone to re-chrome 'em cheap afterward.
I want them to look factory with a bit of question marks when people look at it.

Sort of a what not to do, in terms of bearing removal... But, you live and you learn.

the tire I'm using is a 130/90/16, but a 140 tire fits with ease too.
there's some things I didn't mention in the thread, but they were common sense. (seal replacement, and torque specs) and maybe a few others.

what swing arm is that you are swapping in? what are the dimensions on it?

the mono shock is on the back burner till I get all the parts together, but its a 93 CBR600f2 swingarm.

the pivot point is 9.25in wide(about 1/4 inch over stock)
it's 24 inches long overall
21.5in from the center of the pivot bolt to the axle which is about 3.5 inch stretch from stock, or 1 inch longer than what I have now

about 9 inches between the legs (where the axle is)

it's gonna be some work to fit it, but not so much that I can't deal with it

I'll shave down the mating surfaces in the pivot point
shave off all the tabs on the swingarm and add my own
fit an 18'' wheel with a big disc brake
drill and sleeve the frame to fit the 15mm pivot bolt
(cause I'm @ 16mm right now from the DOHC one)
modify a front fender to hug the rear tire
make rearsets with yamaha R6 foot levers, master cyl, and my own pegs and brackets.
and get a longer chain.

for the shock-
weld a clevis tab to the frame brace on the bottom for the dogbone link
and weld another clevis tab to a plate and weld that plate to the brace on the backbone under the tank.

needless to say I'll have to relocate the battery and fab up an oil tank
here's the battery I'll use.

It's 12v 190cca same as stock but sealed, thinner, and almost half as tall
 it's dimensions are 3.5'' wide X 4.5 high X 6'' long.
http://www.factoriesonline.com/ProductInfo.aspx?id=5447097

and the oil tank I'll make out of aluminum, but I haven't figured out a design yet, most likely formed to fit low and tight to the motor and swingarm area.

there may be more but I think I'm done rambling for now.

i dont remember, what did you end up doing with that seat?
you disappeared man!  I sold it to somebody locally for 30 bucks.

sounds good. Im in the process of looking for a monoshock swinger that is close to the stock specs or able to be modified to retain stock wheelbase numbers.  I am liking the ability to shorten the F4i swinger by grinding the welds off the end of the swing arm and shortening the fork legs to get me closer to the stock wheelbase.

yeah that makes sense, I just never liked the short wheelbase.
to me it looked out of proportion when compared to the space between the front wheel and the frame.
