When I bought my old 46 Willys CJ2a, it had sat for 30 years in the guys garage, got it home, and primed the oil pump threw some gas and a battery in it and it fired right up, but wouldn't rev much over an idle. Played with it a while, but still couldn't get it to rev. was running great, so we were sure it was nothing in the engine, shut her down and tried her again, my brother was out turning the distributor, and I was in the driver seat, he turned the distributor a bit too far and she started to stall out, I mashed the go pedal at about the same time he spun the distributor back. She let out an ear numbing 'KAPOW' and started reving up real sweet, just like it's supposed to, but was LOUD. Shut the jeep down , figured I blew out the exhaust, so I climbed outto check it out and when I turned around, the front door to his house had a big hole in it, went in and found the back half of the muffler, abunch of straw, and 6 dead mice in the middle of his floor.
