Welcome from Gabriola.

You have found a great bunch of guys and girls who will be able to assist you with what's up

Use the search function for ease of locating similar problems others with the same bike have had, and when that fails drop a note in.

We like photos.......I mean the bike ;D

Ouch ;)
People here will be able to get you going with a bit of effort on your part.

Can't help you with a dealer recommendation.

Put your specific issues with some of the bikes history here http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?board=2.0 and I'm confident it will run again shortly.

The only problem with dealers is that expensive hourly rate.
You could easily run up several hundred bucks trying to sort out old bike issues.
What symptoms are you getting?

At the moment I can't get him to start, he's been sitting over the winter. The battery is charged, engine won't fire up. I was thinking - drain the old gas, check the spark plugs (never done that before but hey there is always a first!)

Last season he started to cut out when I was shifting down...he would stop and not restart. Also cut out when I would go up hill - did that a couple of times. Pushed it home a few times at the end of the season. He's been parked since. Kept in the garage.

My bike before this was a Suzuki GSXR 750 - new..no troubles...so I am pretty new to the old bike world - that being said - i am also willing to do what it takes to get him on the road ASAP

Good to see you at it........BUT........ you need to click here http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?board=2.0  and start a new thread with your issues all over again in the SOHC/Mech section to get any responses from world members.

Your still in "the introduction section".
I'm going to make this happen if it kills me ;D
