It was 70 out today, nothing but sun so i took my motorcycle down to the local honda motorcycle dealership to take a look at some motorcycle pants. I parked my bike in line with the rest of the brand spankin new sport bikes and harleys and went in. When i came back out, there were the 3 dealership mechanics standing by my bike talking. When i walked over they told me how cool my bike was. i got a 74 CB550, orange sparkle gas tank, clip on handlebars, 4 into 1  exaust ect ect. Ive spent alot of time getting that thing up and running lately, wet sanding all the rust off every spoke, tuning it, oil change, fixing this and that and well today really made it all worth it. Those guys were really impressed by MY bike when mine was surrounded by new harleys and sportbikes. They waited until i got on it so they could hear it. It started up like it always does on the first kick, the 4 into 1 exaust sounds great I must admit. That thing really purrs now. Those guys told me that was the coolest bike they had seen there yet. They all gave me the thumbs up as i drove away, i had a great ride home, and realized for the first time how much GOD DAM FUN THIS IS!!

Had the same thing happen with my 75 550. Parked it outside the Service Dept to buy some oil filters and when I came out, everybody in the place was gathered around it.  Makes all the work seem worthwhile, doesn't it?

It's really cool how these bikes draw people in.  I ride around with my buddy and he has a 82 nighthawk.  Everywhere we seem to go someone either asks me about it, or they want to buy it, but nothing much is said about his bike.  Classics just have a place in peoples hearts I guess.

My last two putts have brought the same reaction as yours and man.... you gotta say its a good feeling.First putt in Santa Cruz mountains (Calif.) had 3 different people either stopped to talk about it or just stood there drooling.Next putt... Sonora,Angel's Camp, Calif. same thing. What I like the best is that I was ridin with friends both times that had brand new bikes and nobody was gawking at theirs!!
