« on: April 08, 2009, 11:07:55 AM »
Just noticed this today.

$350.  I dunno, seems kinda steep. ???  How much are Dynas bringing now?  Then theres Hondamans setup which I would really like to try.

decisions, decisions..... :-\

Somebody here just posted they bought one for their 550, not installed yet. Price seems comparable to Dyna w/coils.

It doesn't specifically say. But all references to the ignition include references to the coils, and I can't find a separate pricing for the coils, so at this point I'm thinking they are.

PS: Just found it. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=46813.15  KB02 bought it and says the coils came with it. See his post on page 2 near the end.

looks awesome optical ignition sensors are dead on i've seen guys with this on thier nitro motors they swear by it one guy told me he was making 1500Hp on a blown nitro 400cid and he wouldnt trust his motor to anything but optical sensors....

BTW i'm still running points because points dont care what direction i'm pointing... (N. W. S. E) and if there is a large magnet near by it wont throw of my readings... ie screw driver ect... and the distance from the coil to the dyna makes a difference

as soon as i get some extra $$$ i'm getting that system for my bike that rocks!

Coils yes. Wires, no. Wires are pretty easy to get, so no real worries. (Would have been nice if they were included, though...)

Some of the optical systems (newtronics, Pirahana) can be affected by light. I dont know if the Powerarc system can be, but it may be affected also. Not usually a problem, but if you should go down and wreck your points cover, it may be a concideration (I carried some duct tape just in case on my GT 750).

Actually, timing the Power Arc system seems very simple. Simply set the crank at TDC. Rotate the timing plate until the little built in LED light comes on, and you're there.

From what I understand, the stock wires won't work. These need shielded wires or something? What's the requirement for these?
