Front caliper hinge/750 k5
« on: April 19, 2005, 09:24:54 PM »
Rebuilding the front caliper this week. Noticed the hinge joint of the caliper holder is sticky on the bottom half where it bolts to the fork leg. Top portion of hinge pivots freely. Is it possible to disassemble the hinge without  destroying it in order to clean and lubricate? Or is there a better way to free it up without taking it apart?
Thanx jim

Yes you can take the two parts apart, clean and regrease so that it hinges smoothely.

Just unbolt it from the fork leg.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I discovered just what you said earlier today and realized how ridiculously
easy it is to disassemble. It was stuck to a point where I wasn't sure if it was designed to come apart,( I'd never taken one apart before). Sorry for the wasted space guys..
