Stage IV head ~ $2000
Crank work with Carrillo rods installed ~ $1500
Cam, sprocket, Tsubaki chain and KA Tensioner ~ $700
Tranny work ~ $400
915/970/1000 Bore kit and stock cylinder work ~ $1500 (if over 849cc)
MRieck cylinder stuff ~ $?
Primary chains and tensioner ~ $250
Gaskets, bearings, o-rings, etc ~ $500
Carbs ~ $800
Powdercoating engine cases ~ $400
Etc

Oh yeah, it'll run better than a 'normal' 750 - MUCH better and have 50% more power at least.

Use the diamond primary chains Jerry, much better.... ;)

At last! The Honda with the billet block (affectionately known as K9) burst into life for the first time yesterday (2nd Sept). It's a bit loud (tee hee). Its taken some time to get to this stage due to the fact I didn't want to do the wiring myself, because there would have been a significant possibility of things not going according to plan. Also the fact that the frame is an import from the USA meant I had a fair few obstacles to overcome to get it registered for the UK.

A short trip out on it today of around 10 miles revealed nothing untoward of any great significance. A slight oil leak from the oil pressure switch and a bit of noise from the tappets was about it. It seems a bit over geared (3700rpm = 70mph) though I guess that is not such a bad thing while I'm breaking it in. A longer trip is planned for tomorrow

I would post a pic or two, but I don't seem to be able to upload any pictures to Photobucket anymore. Anyone know the secret or an alternative method?

Cheers

Well that is 2 on the road that I know of Eric. ;D I am still adjusting jetting and spark timing. Mine pulls better and better with adjustments. It likes more timing...I just set it to 40 degrees (static) BTDC using the 5th timing map on the Dyna 2000. It idled better and some of that is due to the large cam I'm running (Megacycle 125-30) which causes increased reversion etc. I have to take it for a longer drive and see. I have the oppisite problem with the gearing as I'm running 17/49. I am going to try an 18 front as it is revving high @ 75 - 80 MPH. It does pull very well dring roll ons as it is in the meat of the rev range.

Well done Eric, cant wait to see the pics.
A few members including myself had this problem where for no reason ( PB issue) couldnt upload pics.
I emailed them and then phoned them.
The cure sounded wacky but it worked for me.   I had to click on and highlight IMG number 3 times then edit copy.

Work on the pics now Eric , not the bike  ;D ;D ;D

Well that worked
Here's some more. Since the pics were taken I've added a set of K&N filters to prevent the odd stray cat/dog/perambulator and other detritus from getting sucked in. What that will do to the mixture setting I don't know, hopefully not a lot, but it's raining right now so the next test ride will have to wait.

A change of rim for the rear wheel is on the cards. As there was a good tyre on the K7 rim I thought I might as well wear it out first though. The side panels should be going to the painters soon so they will match the tank.
Thanks for your kind comments

Hi Johno
The exhaust is made by Carpy in the USA (www.CB750cafe.com) and it's allegedly a copy of a Yoshimura system. Current price is still $240 USD I believe, which is what attracted me to this 4 into 1 system in the first place. Sounds good too. I understand that there is now a stainless steel version, but at twice the price. The centre stand has to go of course, but that just saves a bit more weight.
Cheers

I personally think the rear K7 wheel looks right, it adds to the beefy look and believe me, that bike ozzzzzes beefyness.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D it just needs a matching rim.

I've also nominated it for BOTM so as soon as it is seconded, you need to accept the nomination Eric.

Forwhateveritsworth....  I am creeping up on assembling my Billet Block motor.  I keep hesitating because I *really* want to button it up this 100hp powerplant into a set of sandcast engine cases.  Its going into a CR750 replica-type build.  Its sort of a Fang-version of a CR750 with all alloy bodywork, and all of Mike's best engine parts.  Aw hell.  This is taking forever!  At least it doesn't cost too much.   ;D
