If I ask a friend to do these based on the primitive RC block who would/can pay for it? I'm thinking it could be Niksal....no sleeves! Better heat out!

Either cast with liberal finning or better yet, carve out of billet.

 Major cost is the 17 inch x about 7 inch, x about 3.8 thick slab to start off..

So cast is really the only somewhat  reasonable way to go, but will still come out at probably 700 plus, easily (likely) more...without pistons..

As far as I know NIKASIL is a proprietary coating (plated), put on to a certain thickness much like hardchrome.

 I think the billet with thicker fins would be just too cool..

What a bit of one up man ship especially if it had JMR machined into it.
The fact that there are no liners would make it much lighter but, with the ceramic bores, would the block require a different set of compression rings Mike ?

i'm following this one. 

for what it's worth, a small company is releasing new aluminum blocks for flat head fords. i know they have a strong following but come on now! more trivial junk: i had a dream (swear to god on this) that mike released an alum. 750 based mill. i don't go in for that power of dreaming, palm reading b.s. but this is freaky.

actually, now that i think about it, it was a whole assembly with all lessons learned on the sohc utilized.

I'm going to talk to my friend next week about it. The block bores could be roughed out to whatever size than be sent to Millennium Plating for final boring/honing and plating. I have seen this done for FJ1200's

Hell, I think I would like to have one just to hang on the wall as some kind of retro/modern art! Even if I couldn't pop for the whole expense of assembling an engine of that size(carbs, cam, cylinder head work) now this kind of stuff will not be available later,

As for the block... I've got enough projects in my garage right now, but a big block and new pistons...  I could have that literbike I dream about. Would it wheelie?

Check out Leno's garage, he has a video of a device that laser scans a part then makes a plastic prototype [with moving parts] if the part works then you can use the program to cnc the parts for real. It made a crescent wrench and the jaw opened and closed like the original.

Sorry Don but that sounds a little back to front. You started by scanning the part to make a plastic one.
Why do you need a plastic one when you already have the origional one that you have just scanned
