washers in oil lines?
« on: April 10, 2009, 11:54:05 PM »
I have a 78 CB750f and took the oil tank and oil lines off to clean them.  I found in the bottom of the tub, an extra washer.  I have the one on the oil plug for the tank.  and 1 extra.  It looks like maybe it was in one of the lines where they connect to the tank, but on the parts list I have (75 CB750f) it does not show any washer in those lines.  also it shows only one washer on the oil plug.

One oil line was leaking very badly.  I removed them to replace them.  Could this have been my problem?

Hi, Hapakev. There's an aluminum crush washer inside the female ends of the oil hoses. It serves as a gasket.  RR

I was put on Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!
