New blinker stem diameter is smaller than OEM, any help
« on: April 10, 2009, 08:45:20 PM »
so i bought new shorter stems through partsnmore but the diameter is just a little smaller than the OEM ones and the blinkers can spin around the stems and thats with it screwed as tight as it can go. Does anyone have a fix for this. I want to try and avoid some form of glue that i will never be able to remove again. Thanks in advance

Maybe you could make a bushing of sorts, using some thin material like a strip cut out of a beer can which would allow tightening down without glue or someting like that.

+1 on the beer can, cut some strips a few inches long, and as wide as the knurled area of your blinker stems, wrap the strip around the stem and give it a shot.  It's always an excuse to buy beer...

You could just wrap some electrical tape on there and that will handle it.  The tape will seat in the grooves and you will be fine once tightened.  Just be sure it is loose enough to slip on the blinkers.
