This sounds ridiculous, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the 12mm bolt from the end of the secondary shaft, to pull out the primary. How did you keep it from spinning? As in how do you keep tension on the bolt so you can take it off?

I kow this is 101 stuff but it's killing me. I have a second 350F engine I'm working on, so I've been using that. Anyone feel like schooling me on this?

Here's a picture of the bolt I'm talking about

Well I haven't done this particular operation but from the picture it looks like a long pry-bar in between 2 teeth and levered against the shaft below (with appropriate padding) ought to hold it. I'd have someone do that for you and, using a box wrench on the bolt, give the wrench a sharp rap with a hammer.

Put the clutch basket back on and jam a copper coin in the teeth

So I'm not missing some clearly defined tool or step here right? It's okay to use a litte jimmy rigging on this one?  ;)

put a leather glove on and grab hold of the shaft, take your air impact wrench (hopefully you have one) and it should come right off.

Took my cases apart last week, and there wasn't much torque needed for the bolt.

if you don't have an air impact I would maybe try to jam the leather glove in the gears, but would never stick anything metal into the gears or the clutch, just my 2 cents

+1 to that - I actually just use a rag. Put the clutch basket on and feed in the rag until it grips, then just tweak off that bolt with a normal breaker bar. There's so little clearance between the teeth that a chunk of rag will do the same trick. I know copper is soft and won't damage the teeth but old pants are softer  ;D
