side stand spring

is the spring for the side stand on my k4 still available someplace? i was putting it on today and flew out of my hand and out the garage door, i looked for a long time and i just cant find the damn thing.

I hate when that kind of thing happens!

Spring installation...............get a stack of nickles or thick washers...........bend spring and insert a few coins..........bend spring in opposite direction and insert more coins......install spring.............remove coins to buy beer!

Taking that one step further...

Before removing the spring, while it is in the extended condition, insert your shims in the coils. At that point the coils won't be open far enough to use something as thick as pennies or washers. I use small pieces of aluminum flashing folded a few times. Then when you return the stand to up position the spring falls off. Reverse for install.
