Ouch
« on: April 12, 2009, 01:56:49 PM »
While I was working on my cafe build, the frame (rolling chassis) fell a good foot off the blocks I had it jacked up on. The kickstand was up and that flat mounting metal part under the frame landed right on my foot. Broke the middle toe. Holy crap that hurt and throbbed.

I love my wife who's a nurse, she's like, "Sorry babe, take some Motrin, there's nothing you can do about a broken toe."

Whenever I do any kind of mech or outdoor work I put on my safety toe boots first.

Saved many a broken toe.

I hear ya. What sucks is that I was almost done for the night, just had to button up the triple tree.

Lessons seem to be learned the hard way.

Also, it would hurt to have had the bike more secure....

I said, "AAAAGGGHHH!"

It's crazy, my whole front half of my foot is bruised. I was dreading taking my sock off, I thought there was going to a huge gash. Thank goodness, cause I hate stitches.

you might wanna try to tape that toe to one next to it to stabilize the break.

Dude!

I hope you heal fast.  I've broken 5 fingers,  but never toes.  Doesn't look like fun...  Best O Luck!

I also suffer from bare feet syndrome.  I had just got the bike running better than it has in almost 20 years last Oct.  I was in my shop doing some cleaning when I dropped a SkilSaw on my middle left toe.  While it wasn't the blade that hit, it did cut as well as break the toe.  Stopped me from riding until after the New Year.

And the dog learned a few new words, too.
