Blue,
What pistons and rods are you running with that combo and what did your static compression come out to?  I'm finishing up my turbo engine and I'm still not sure which way to go on the pistons.

I'm running RC forged steel rods, mtc 8.25 compression pistons, 970cc bore. With vp
racing c-16 fuel, 25lbs boost is the most i've run so far. The A.R.D. cdi belt drive magneto
really helps with the spark at high boost levels and makes it sound different. Only fires
1 spark plug at a time, not 2 like stock ignition. I'm also running a SU carb from Rivera
Engineering. I'd post a picture but haven't learned how yet. Maybe soon.

Yeah, the MTC low-CR pistons were part of the ATP "competition" turbo kit.  I've been looking for a set for a while now, even called MTC, but I haven't been able to find a set.

I'm loving this one!  ;D
Which turbo, compressor and turbine A/R? How big is that SU carb? What is your timing?
Just a thought, the boost sounds just right for a Rajay F compressor. Check your compressor map, the flow at that pressure is a little high for a B.
Just think of the boost levels / air flow we could generate if single turbos could support higher pressure ratios!

You will probably have to bite the bullit and have some pistons custom made. I should of
bought the MTC big block way back then like a friend of mine did. 1200cc !! His is
turbocharged also. Hey, email me your address and i'll send ya some pictures of ole blue !
maybe you could post them on this site for me. Here's mine: JON.GAGE@HOTMAIL.COM

Hi Jon. Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was an 80 or a 110. With the extra ribs I thought it was probably a 110.

I chased for years to find a Magnusen setup. I even spoke with Jerry Magnusen and never could locate one with a complete CB750 clutch drive.  He doesn't own one either, and would love to find one for himself.

This setup was mounted on a Kaw drag bike, but with a side support plate similar to my Drouin it should be an easy fit to a CB750. I was planning on using a Weber 45 sidedraft with this unit.

For sale?  I suppose that everything is at some point.  Drop me a PM with a contact number if you like. We should probably get to know one another since we're obviously both about half crazy!   ;D  RR

Thanks for the reply RR ! Couldn't you drive the blower off the crankshaft. My best
friend has an old buddy that has a setup like yours that is driven off of the clutch.
He first had it running off the crank  and he made his own injector setup ! he's a
engineer at San Onofre nuculear power plant. He ran his on alcohol ! He also made a
special swing arm to convert it to a 3 wheeler for Glamis sand dunes. It finally gave
in the ghost and blew the trans out the bottom of the cases !! I've been trying to
buy his setup for years but he says he's going to bring her back from the dead !!
Hey get this, My friend who has the shop has a complete 4 port Hilborn injector setup
with the pump, all brand new !!! Same thing though, wont sell it. At least not yet.
I'm really trying to find someone who has a digital camera and can show me how to post some picture's of my turbo'd honda.

Hi, Jay. Sorry, I'm not acquainted with "Dragonfly" but my blower came from the East Coast. RR

Thanks for the reply RR ! Couldn't you drive the blower off the crankshaft.

B71T, that seems like to easiest way to drive the blower; off the dyno side with a block-off plate and a remote (Goldwing?) alternator. At least that's the way I've been planning the project. I don't see any down side compared with a clutch drive. The motor will be balanced off with an RC drive and Hunt/Vertex magneto.

I still have the same problem as everyone else who's looking at an aspirated engine: pistons. I've got a set of Golden Rods I'd like to use so the DOHC 750 rods are currently an "if necessary" option.

Anyway, due to more critical priorities (survival!) this is a back-burner project, but one that is so outrageous that I have to try to do it.

BTW, has anyone ever seen a bottom end "girdle", either internal or external, made for or used on a CB750 SOHC?  Where is the case weakest under extreme use?  Anybody?

This forum has some great minds. Thanks to everyone who participates in SOHC4!!!

RR if that is yours....
