OK, since we're having a small run of 650 posts I'll throw my question into the ring as well.
I have an '81 CB650 (plain) with 14K miles. Since I'm the second owner it's obviously spent most of its life as a hanger queen. Over the year I've owned it, it has developed oil leaks to point it's marking its territory-- which does not seem right for a Honda, they not being British where such behavior is expected.
At first I thought that I had the dreaded cylinder head gasket leak...
HOWEVER, on closer examination it appears that I've got a leaking cylinder head cover gasket and a leaking oil pan gasket. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has had an oil leak only at the cylinder head cover. It would seem like all I'll have to do is replace the gasket and the rubber pucks over the cylinder head bolts (just for good measure since I'm in there) and I should be back in business, OR am I seeing a symptom of some other problem which is causing the leak (as in there's something plugged which is stopping the oil from properly circulating)?
As far as the oil pan leak, that seems like that should also be an easy fix. A new gasket.
Thanks,
Nathan
