i caught this today on IFC on directv. i had never heard of the movie OR the tour that spawned the movie. and i was a bigtime deadhead too. amazing film, alot of interview time with jerry garcia and janis joplin and bobby weir.  one of janis' final performances too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_Express

I like the jammin on the train. They didnt even play the last festival did they? Montreal? Too much violence everyone trying to crash gates? that was just about the scene  at the end in 95 too. It was Canadas version of woodstock and texas international pop fest. It  wasnt too well accepted but the bands took it as a vacation for the 69 they missed
