A little Kansas City History.
« on: April 17, 2009, 06:43:06 AM »
I wanted to share this, we (the company I work for) just finished all the sign work for this theatre and its too cool. We also did all the Cinema Suites seats and tray tables along with the lights on them, all the graphics we did also, makes me want to go to the theatre again even though its expensive this makes it worth it.

Theres some cool history to that theatre too I will post a link to it later when I can find it again.

That's friggin' awesome.  We have a new theatre like that with the full service food/liquor thing (my wife's favorite part is the seat warmers), but yours is even cooler because it's in an original landmark.

Thanks for the commments fellas, The original theatre was one of the first to have its own day care back in the 20's I do believe, it even has a tunnel that goes across to "The Presidential". It was at the time a premier hotel from what I read and couples could go from the hotel to the theatre with out being outside, kewl stuff.

Now if I could just find some of the old mob stories and read up on them because kansas city was pretty crazy back then from what I heard, their is still the old steam tunnels down town that they used to travel through but their used for other things now

Hey Goon, that sounds like an interesting and creative job you do. I slouch at a computer all day and stare at a screen drawing lines and circles trying ignore that dumbass supervisor of mine as he's throwing a 'wobbler' every other half hour.
Would you have a gallery/video of your work and some of the products you create?

Yeah, KC was the place to be in the 20's and 30's.

Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie and Clyde were here, when did this place get to sucking so much?

I hear that Dook.
Rhos1355 we do just about anything here, and fast too. We do four to five different kinds of theatres here and even ones in Japan and the carribean, we have a killer intern program here and actually got a guy that just cam here about a month ago from London, he is pretty kewl. He won a contest over there and has an invention he's working on and part of the contest is that we have to help him develop it.

We also do convention centers, three zoo's so far, four or five stadiums and as of next week they need really good guys so I get to go to Dabenport Iowa to do Minor league stadium work for the next week.
Here is the website for my work.

Also here is a direct link to our photo gallery, and as many of you can see we have done things in many of your towns'. This place had me travel all over the country for four years, I gotta say to those who are young and don't have a wife and kids to tie you down yet to get out and travel, it is a very humbling and culturalizing experience.

Brother I hope so, we lost about 25 out of 60 fabricators. Some have made it back to do contract work but that's temporary. We do such a spectrom of stuff that it keeps us busy.
