Here's a pic of my newly painted bike.
It's Ace paint, their version of Rustoleum, "RustStop." It's a mixed color from their house paint chips, called "Green Grapes"
I bought a quart (about $9). I primed it with spray primer first, also RustStop brand. Then I sanded lightly and sprayed about 4 coats of paint using an HVLP gun. I was amazed at how easy this was! This paint sprays nicely, doesn't make a mess and covers well. Seems to level well and everything.

That appliance white just had to go. There was candy jade green under it, what a shame to paint white over that!

It looks better in pics than in person. It's not completely smooth. really I should sand it and paint another few coats but I am ready to ride so it's good for now. Its so easy to paint our bikes that I'll probably do it again at the end of the season. My brother told me I should buff it, so when I know it's hard enough I may try that.
The badged were sprayed with white paint and I then painted the black parts with model paint and a tiny brush. I didn't do a great job, but they look better than they did!
This was a pretty amatureish job. I didn't even strip the old paint completely off. I just sanded everything really smooth and went for it. Definately not reccomended for those interested in a real resto. Some day I'll take the time to do it right, but it's spring now and time to ride!
