Difference btw Master Cylinders? Markings 11 & 20
« on: April 19, 2009, 01:37:42 AM »
Good evening,

Rebuilding a master cylinder to replace the poor looking one on my bike.

The master cylinder on the bike is maked with 11 (within the reservoir), the one I'd like to rebuild and replace it with is marked 20.

Whats the marking mean?
Batch number, or is there actually a difference?

Visually they look exact...

Probably just batch markings, check the bore diameter when you, eventually, get them apart
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

Well, I guess its time to attempt to remove the dreaded circlip...

Will be easier from one, as the second looks rusted in
