Mods vs Rockers 2009!
« on: April 18, 2009, 10:31:50 AM »
It's two months away (Sat, June 20th, 2009), mark your calenders!  I got the day off work and the wife's permission, so this will be my first year going.  I am sure there will be a group of us riding down from Milw if anyone in the area wants to hook up for the ride down.

Yep, Omaha, Nebraska. I'm not familiar with Chicago so I'm also trying to find some hotel info that would be secure for bikes and not far from the event.

Wow, that's quite the ride!

Join chivinmoto.com and post that you need a hotel in the area.  I am sure one of the members will steer you in the right direction.

There was a great TV documentary on the BBC recently where they reunited some of the original mods and rockers from the fighting on Brighton beach on 18th May 1964

The guys are all in their 60's now and good mates!

"and this is where I hit you with the chain..."

"oh yea, and I ran bleeding into a line of coppers just over here..."

They still bike and drink together.

I'm driving in from kansas city on friday. Should be a great time.
I have no idea what I'm riding as I'm getting a loaner bike while there. (I shouldn't be riding mine 9 hours straight yet)
See you boys out there!

Better to be there without your bike, then to miss it.  ;)

Steve, if you rode a CB750 down in Brighton. Were you a Mod, Rocker, or another form of life?

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

If you rode a CB750 in Brighton in the 60's, you were a time traveler:)

Hey BTW, is anyone else entering their bike in the show?  Mine is no show winner, but I like the idea of supporting the cause.  Besides, it will be one more bike the winner can say he/she beat out.  ;)

$25 cover the show and grub, can't beat it!

I would say that 1969 would still be the sixties.  ;D
