That is funny you ask I was just about to tear back into it today after a long break due to moving and busy with work. I will catch you up. I
removed the carbs and took them to the guru in Chatsworth. He gave them a good cleaning and replaced the accelerator pump. It looks like that might have been it all along, right? He did not have an o-ring for it so he found a similar sized one from an o-ring kit and installed that one. I eagerly put the carbs back on the bike and.... no dice! I took it all the way back after no response from the emails and he said it was probably the o-ring blocking the orifice. I must have looked skeptical because he had to prove it to me by shooting carb cleaner through the top and it sprayed out into the throat just fine. He also manually pumped it and it was squirting. So I ordered one carb kit which included the accelerator pump oring and put it all back together again. This time it sprayed out of one good, another about half and two there was nothing. At this point I wanted to fill up the gas tank and stuff a burning rag into it and walk away. I took a break and I am back at it today, fingers crossed!

Okay, quickie update. I tried it out again and all carbs are dribbling out gas. At first it was only the left side dribbling, but I leaned it over to the right and twisted the throttle and it was the same. I also tested the accelerator pump and it works great. I sprayed carb cleaner where the pump sprays gas and it all sprays well. So I know the accelerator and all passageways are good right? It doesn't spray out like the carb cleaner but should it? I tried starting it just to see if that little bit of gas was enough and it wasn't even close. I am gonna have to research where the problem could be for a little bit.

Tried another test. I opened the throttle wide with the petcock off and sprayed starter fluid inside each carb throat. I tried starting it and it gave a little backfire out of the carbs and they flamed up pretty good but no start. Then I tried spraying while starting and I got one hell of a backfire out the exhaust and no start. The spark plugs were still dry as a bone. I know starting fluid is probably not good for the bike but I used very little. I might give it another try with the gas on tomorrow. If anyone is reading this, input would be much appreciated. I have to be getting close.

Still no ignition. I cranked it by kick start and again with the motor starter while the carbs were choked full of starter fluid and I also tried giving it gas with the throttle. The carb boots were still dry. I even did another test putting my hand over the air side of the carbs to choke and that did not work. It was sucking though. I took off the carbs for another inspect and everything on the idle circuit seems clear. I think I am going to start a new narrow field thread and maybe someone can lend a hand.

Hey even if your accel pump circuit isn't operating perfectly, it should still idle.  That circuit only operates during throttle tip-in.  I don't even think pre-1977 carbs had them at all!  I don't remember, but did you do a rough bench sync before putting them back on?  I did when I went through my carbs and it still barely fired up. I had to put the Morgan on it just to get the idle to hold.

My accel pump circuit is good to go. It is the idle circuit that is not supplying any gas. They are synced close enough to start for sure.
