Back up and running like a champ
« on: April 17, 2009, 06:39:18 PM »
Tried to start the K4 last week and it wouldn't catch or start. So, pulled the plugs and sand blasted them, gap them and stuck em back in their holes. I pulled the points and resurfaced them. Put everything back together and set dwell and then timing while cranking. Gas tank back on and fuel turned on and one touch of starter and fired right up as strong as ever. Took it for it's inaugural spring ride. Put about 10 miles on it and got all the usual stares from the unbelieving. Bike is 35 years old but looks better than it did in the showroom and sounds awesome in the revs. Can't wait to start the rides and gatherings. Spring seems to finally be here.

I'm thinking of going out for the weekend. I'm still in negotiations with the majority stock holder (wifey) I'll let you know.

hey, if there wasn't some road dust on it, people would not believe that I still ride it. I will wipe it down after it cools off though.  I have to admit, I really enjoy the stares and  the reactions I get on the road. Today, I got a thumbs up and a horn beep from a HD and yammy that were riding past me.  I got my weekend camping/entry tickets for mid-ohio vintage days in July. Plan to use the c100 cub as a pit bike and have the K4 in the sandcast owners tent. Plan to try to get the magna on the track if possible.
