almost done, but what do i do with these hoses?
« on: October 25, 2005, 09:04:48 PM »
Ok, I'm almost done putting my bike back together after a complete tear down.  I've got 3 hoses (and their replacements), and 3 spots to put them (that i can see and remember).  1. back center of valve cover. 2. top inside of oil can. 3. rear center of crankcase.  Are all three of these just breather/drain hoses?  Or is there a connection or something i'm missing?

Those were all breather hoses on mine.

sorry, i originally thought it was a k3, but i just noticed last night that my airbox mentions model k on it.  I need to look at the engine/frame numbers again and double check the k3 part...

If it is indeed a K3, then the hose from the top of the valve cover just goes along the frame, down by the swingarm and points at the ground. This is the crankcase breather vent hose.

The hose from the top of the oil tank is the oil tank breather hose. This just points down at the ground as well.

The rear center of the crankcase has a hose that attaches to a small corresponding hose barb on the oil tank near the bottom.

Jonesdp - That sounds more correct to me than them all being breather hoses.

None of my manuals show the hoses worth a damn.  I forgot about powersportspro, I have used their parts diagrams for things before, pretty handy.

thanks
