« on: April 19, 2009, 08:53:53 AM »
Hello all!
I am new to bikes.
Just got a 78 750F on ebay, it has 10k miles, and runs well ( so says the ebay'er I got it from).
The bike still has to be shipped from WI.

It does look good. I hope it arrives just as advertised for you. The fact that it's in good shape is a super bonus. "F" parts are sometimes just a bit harder to find.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome, I did look locally first, and saw a few, but this one was the best overall (miles and $, and over all shape) taking a chance on not seeing it in person, but if the gamble pays off...!!!!!!

the bike is supposed to be dropped of by the 5th of may.....Im crossing my fingers.

Nice find. I am up in Westchester. I will be in Brklyn Friday.

Crooklyn's in the house!  Welcome to the board.  I've found a wealth of info here on these bikes.  I'm on Long Island but work over in downtown Metrotech.  I'm in the process of restoring a 76 CB400F.  Hit me up if you need some resources for parts and stuff.  Let me know if you find a good local mechanic.

Thanks cudjo.  Thats a great lead.  I might stop by there tomorrow morning.  I'll keep you posted as to what his place is like.  Someone gave me the name of a guy over on Carol St, in between the BQE and Flatbush.  The place is called Motorcycle Works Ltd.  Supposedly his work is good but his attitude sucks.  I had called him a few weeks ago and he answered the phone with a bothered "yeah".  I hung up knowing that I'm not doing business with a guy like that.

yes today going back home in two weeks to get it...needs tires and a carb cleanout runs good just rough. Do you know of any decent mechanics in Staten Island? I live in NC now.
