I came across a book about motorcycles from the mid-70's written in Australia. In the last chapter, the author reviewed all the contemporary superbikes at the time of the writing. I liked the wording the guy used when describing the CB750:
"The best seller in the (superbike) class, Honda's 750 'four' is remarkably quiet and refined, combining a fuss-free temperment with uncanny smoothness and potent urgency. The beautifully designed light alloy four cylinder engine has a single overhead camshaft with a fairly flat power curve, reducing the need to change gears in the lower speed ranges. Well priced, it is a highly civilised Japanese import with a brisker performance than many sports cars costing 10 times the price. A feature of the CB750 is the complete absence of vibration. Even the rear vision mirror remains rock steady at speed."
