Hey man,

I'm some ways north of you... I'm just north of Dallas.  Am I right in assuming that you are at or near the hill country?  If so, lucky you...  I'll ride down there someday.
So, your cb is your first bike?  Mine as well.  Not too shabby, huh (as long as  you can get them to work for more than a week at a time  ;D )?

I'm sure there's someone closer to ya witha sohc4

take care,

André

Yup, hills everywhere. I haven't had the stones to get it out on the highway yet, just got it running night before last. As soon as I find a camera I'll have to get a picture up. It's a little chopped, but I don't mind. Still got that heart n soul. Look forward to passing you on the road.

It's about time someone else responded on here, unfortunately being a full-time student forbids me to go on long.....any trips (not to mention work) But you will have some fun right around Marble Falls, I would definately spend my time there.

I'm in Odessa. It's a big flat desert in a large hole in the ground. No scenery. Our biggest tourist attraction is an old meteor crater. It's about the only thing it has going for it.

I'd kill to see some hills.

That's yours? Pretty. I have that exhaust system. It's not pretty, but the head pipes are okay. It's not so much rusted as it's got cracks in the mufflers, and one pipe was "squished" on the bottom, like it was run over a good size rock. I could send you pictures, but I'd have to take them.

Hi Ya'll in Texus. I have a Texas dictionary.
Being an Aussie I have been to Texas many times to visit my Vietnam Veterans (www.135ahc.com) in Weatherford, Grapevine, Seagoville, Seaville, Granbury and last but not least Jacksbro in the drilling country. NW of DFW
There is a Cafe there called the "Green Frog"  What a #$%* hole, but I must admitt the Burgers there were the biggest on the planet.
The first time I was there in '90 the best looking waitress in the world served me the second time for a pilgrimage '98 the ugliest and most obnoxious served me. I needed to ring 911 to get out of her spell!!
God it was bad. Pity I never had a bike then I would never had stopped untill I hit 'Billy Bob's Honky Tonk in Cow Town.
Theres a mate in Odessa called Ron Spears who lost aleg in a pipe laying accident who was with me Vietnam in 69-70.
If you know him tell him that there is a reunion in Biloxi MIss, 23 May 05
I'll be there in USA soon .

Keep them doggies movin.
Love Texas.

It must be interesting to get off a CB750 and get on a 350f. I remember swapping bikes with ol' Jeremy Brown. I was on my CB550 and he was on a CM185T. Big difference.

Yeah good ride.....
Until I broke my oil cooler mount.

Too many Harleys. What we need is a Texas Get together for SOHC riders in the Hill Country. Nice central location in Texas, Great roads, and Biscuits and Gravy.

If everything they say about heaven is true, then it must lie somewhere deep in the Texas hill country. Absolutely beautiful country. I'd love to just drop everything and go there, but maybe if I had tags, insurance, a license, inspection sticker, and so on.

You can only take so much desert, and I'm fast approaching the 10 year mark here.

It's a big state. We've got hills, deserts, mountains, and valleys. Different climates. I lived in Houston for 11 years, and saw it snow once. That's one huge city in the forest on the coast. Now, I've lived in the desert for 9-10 years, and it's snowed every year at least once. Not bad for the desert.

Snowed here December 24th. First time in over 100 years.

I seem to recall from some grade school class that Texas has all 5 geographical types in the United States. Mountainous, Coastal, Plains, etc.

From my other vocation (SOHC's are an avocation) The distance from McAllen at the bottom of the state to Texarkana (by Arkansas) versus Texarkana to Chicago is less than 100 Miles difference. Ditto Houston El paso Los angeles CA.

Why would anyone want to live in a state without a statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn? ;)

I was looking down a list of economic super-powers in the world as ranked, US was #1, then there was ummmm (in some order) Japan, China, those damn Brits,  :P and like 4th was Texas. Just a random thought. It is crazy how many different types of country you can see in Texas, I have yet to see them all.

Brownwood sounds good  ;) I'd be here and it close to center with all the hills, twists and turns you can handle.
