Hello Everyone!
My name is will, I live in Wilton, CT. I own a 1977 CB550F. I got it for $500 bucks in early 2008. The previous owner handed it off to me in working condition, and it carried me around all summer last year. It has 28k miles and a bit of wear and tear from the years. Previous owner had planned on rebuilding but lost motivation, so he left me with a few boxes of parts to help me out.
This is my first bike, and will be my first rebuild as well. I will start a new thread as I get underway. So far I have jumped in the deep end, and I'm determined to dismantle, clean, repair/replace, and reassemble every part of the bike. This being said, I hope to ride this bike fully rebuilt sometime in the next decade! All kidding aside, it is going to be a lot of work, and I would like to do it as fast as I can without compromising quality.
That's the bike in it's current state.... I'll explain more when i get the build thread running.
Anyway, I am excited to have such a great resource! I'm not sure i'd have the confidence for this project without this forum.
I will head out to the shop tonight and take some pictures to start a decent build thread.
