Hi, a newbie to this site with an inherited 1975 cb750
« on: October 26, 2005, 01:02:59 PM »
Hi all,

I have recently inherited my Dads cb750.Iit has been sitting in my brothers barn for around 20 yrs. He is the original owner and I remember the day he brought it home. We used to do a annual cross country trips every year. I had a 75 RE5 Suzuki.

Well anyways out of the blue he tells me to go get it, so i did. It was not to bad of shape, needed to get that barn crap off and that fine rust film off it. It actually cleaning up pretty good. Man the smell of the old fluids, WOW, bad. Carbs, one was really bad, look like something died in it.

The following is a link to my webshot site with some pics of it.

I was seeking a couple of misc things. The first is what appeared to be the rubber stop/thingie for the front disc brake lever. It  melted to gue with age. Or maybe analternative fix.

Is there a place out there in internet land that still carries some of these SOHC parts?

Thanks in advance

Amen on the family deal. I have the orig rim, tire and spokes. My Dad changed it and put lowering blocks on right after he bought it (inseamed impaired and vertically challenged).

I just got it a couple of weeks ago and going through things so i can fire it up. Like I have mentioned it has been sitting over 20 yrs and that old fluild, it needed changed. This winter I wil go through it piece by piece and change the rim then.

Hopefully I will get to fire up by the weekend and take me a little "blast in the past" spine <big grin>

I am not a novice working on them, nor riding, but need a good place to share the love of these vintage machines and learn resources.

Hopefully you let me hang around for a while. I do not think Pop' old cb750 going to leave my stable anytime soon.

And as I always say SCORE!!!!

Nice when you dont have to travel for them. I have been known to sell a part or two. As well as some of the other guys. You are in good company.

If your dad is passing out old CB750's as inheiritances, would he be interested in adopting another son...namely, me?   ;D

On a more serious note, sweet ride.  :)
