i think the voice is great, so i'd have to disagree w/ the naysayers... BUT, i think what really gets us is that she sounds nothing like she looks.  i still wonder if that's her real voice!  its like the little mermaid voice... the real person is quite a shock.  that's what this craze is all about, in my opinion. 

i'm not an expert either but i was made to be in choir enough during grade school and middle school to know that she's better than most.

Talk about an undercurrent of self worship! China (and to some extent Japan) seems to personify it. Someone also should tell this pompous jerk American Idol is the knock off, not the other way 'round.
