gas in carb

Ive got a 71cl450 it has double over head cam.Am i in the right place.I took the carbs off to clean them up,when i put them back on,no gas will shoot up in the cylinder.Whats the trick to that?It has gas in the bowl.Thanks

do you mean the cylinder of the carb?  which you might be able to peer into to see.

or do you mean the actual cylinder?  which you should not be able to see gas "shooting" up into.

your engine needs to make vacuum pressure in order to pull gas/air out of the carbs... is it running when you check?
basically... i think we need some more info.
unless someone else knows exactly what he's trying to say.

Unless there is supposed to be an acccelerator pump I don't quite follow either...

CL450 carbs don't have accelerator pumps. If there's gas in the bowls, flip the choke on and it should fire....
