More info on the deal. I had just pulled out of a parking lot and started to accelerate up to a intersection about 75 ft. ahead with (this being my stupidity) my feet on the highway pegs since I wasn't going to kick into 2nd. So when this truck slams on his brakes (and I don't remember seeing brake lights, just the truck quickly stopping it's motion) I only had the front hand brake and that was what put me at a disadvantage in getting it stopped safely. If I had my feet on the regular pegs, I probably would have had no problem in stopping without incident. I am not only po'd at the other guy, but at myself. If I have to have an incident, let it be like this one. Very minor damage due to the low speed and the way I put it down. It was certainly my wake-up call for this season. Just put this thread up to vent and remind everybody that they are out there and they don't give a sh%t about bikers. Season is just starting and it will get worse in a few weeks so keep your eyes open and your mind at work. I have already fixed everything except the tach housing which will probably have to be be replaced at a cost of $50 and the rest of the damage I will end up living with and fix as I can. Hey Hef, i may be a graybeard, but still got pretty fast reactions to go from accelerating to braking that quickly.
