Where does this green wire go? What function?
« on: April 21, 2009, 04:13:03 PM »
Hey guys, my newest CR750 project is coming along really nicely.  However I have a question, I cannot figure out what this green wire with a female spade terminal goes to?  I can't see it on the shop manual or parts diagrams and cannot find an unoccupied spade.  It's a 1978 750K model and the wire is right at the rear of the electrical box ... any ideas??    ???

spare ground for a 3-prong winker.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Ok cool ... I'm good then because I am using LED signals so I already installed a two wire electronic flasher to control the rate.  I will just zip that up and out of the way - Thanks!  that was quick!

That is the infamous green wire that has been discussed for years. It had no purpose when they built the bike. People have used it for various things. Freaked me out when I first found it
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

I do feel better now ..... I thought I was losing it since it did not seem to go anywhere and I forgot about seeing it during teardown  :-[

I have a couple pics ..... should look closer to reality with the race pipes installed this weekend ... I may have the tank, seat and fender back from paint as well which will make a huge difference .... stay tuned!  thanks ...

Not to hijack your thread but...what paint did you use on your engine cases\covers.  It looks great, as does the rest of your bike.

Thanks!

Thanks, it's the VH1 SP127 universal aluminum I think most folks are using .... it's a nice satin finish out of a rattle can and provides good durability and can be touched up.  I also used it on the forks to cover up the spots in the finish.
