Flasher Relay???

Is this the flasher relay?



If so, where does it mount and why does it only have two wires connected (black and gray), when the wiring diagram shows a green ground connected as well?  There is also an unconnected ground wire coming from the harness, but it has nowhere to attach:

Yeap, that looks like it would be the flasher.  If you search around the green wire appears to just be hanging out in every bike

The green wire goes nowhere so dont worry about it. You can pick up a 12V electronic flasher at any auto store - this will work better at any rpm compared to the thermal flasher you show in your photo.

if you're thinking of getting a new flasher i just installed a Tridon EP-37 today that works very well with my new led turn signals.

Okay...

Here's a quick follow up question as I'm trying to clean up my battery box and use an aftermarket fuse holder and reg/rec combo...

What is supposed to go on this thing?  Can I just grind it off?:

those are your holders for the 6 pin plugs for the fuse box and the rectifier...
