Ditto on the clutch, I'd dismantle repack and readjust just to be sure.
With the carb tuning, I adjust for idle first, low/normal rpm next, then finally high rpm/main jet.
It's funny, the guy across the street from me bought a used Virago and had a dealer go over it and they supposedly took it on a test ride. I went over and the bike would stall when put into gear. I adjusted the heck out of the clutch and figured it was either something wrong with the clutch pack or the carb. He took it back to the dealer and they fixed it but I haven't talked to him to find out what was wrong, I'll ask him today.
