Seems cheap at $275.00 but it needs alot of finishing.

A polish ally tank and seat is an awesome combo.

Looks nice, I just got my seat from Carpy (have not opened the box yet). For the extra $95 it might be worth it.

was thinking about ordering the dunstall seat but after seeing that I want one with a polisheed or chromed tank.

yea how much?  hopefully its in my budget. if not I will have to buy the dunstall seat.  man that would look good gray frame and then gray piping on the seat like u guys did it.

Dunstall seats never looked like either of these cafe seats.  In the 60s Dunstall produced longer bench style seats with a flip-up in the back and a small fiberglass/plastic rear portion.  In the 70s they switched to an even longer style with a full fiberglass/plastic sides.  I would guess most of todays cafe riders would think the original Dunstall seats ugly and too big.  It's funny to me to see all kinds of cafe stuff labeled Dunstall that looks nothing like the original Dunstall equipment.  If anyone wants to see the real deal check out this site: http://woodgate.org/dunstall/  I don't understand why a builder or company would market a unique item under the Dunstall name which makes it kind of generic because there are tons of so called "Dunstall" style seats out there.

   I have a bunch of Dunstall literature and none of the "Dunstall " style seats look anything like that.

lol, i was probably looking at some one else's "replica dunstall" parts when naming it... I don't refer to the second one as a "dunstall" style though, I call that one a bullet... maybe i should call it a silver bullet :)

i should rename the "dunstall" something, anyone have any cool name suggestions?

hey joel, i used 14ga aluminum for both seats, it tends not to ripple as much when hammering and is easier to smooth and sand without burning through, could use thinner, but i'm not racing these things so it didn't matter too much to me.  p.s. if you have a bike on the road, hit me up sometime, last weekend i took the 400f out with some sport riders and went waaay too fast out in the finger lakes :-D

Roccity ill be calling you up wednesday next week to order a seat. Like all ur seats just can't make up my mind what I want.  But that polished one is what I'm leaning tords.  Also do you give discounts for forum members? Also might order a tank from you too.

beans, I do 10% on fiberglass for members with a build thread, if you want a polished seat, there's not normally a member discount but if you promise :) to post mad pics with it on your bike, i'm sure we can work out a deal

Yea will have to talk. Im leaning tords the polished seat but have to see how my paycheck is after paying some bills.

actually I think the correct name for that seat shape is the Hansen Tail and the original shape was seen a lot on the Team Hansen kawasaki H1R and H2R and also on the later cb450 race bikes. The original ones slope back a little more than your seat but I think they actually made different variants. They were designed to increase downforce on the larger tracks like daytona.
