Hi all
I am a Honda biker and was a member of this forum years ago. I am at 53 yrs now still lovin life, livin on Vancouver Island, Canada. I am an industrial electrician and a drummer in a band. Drag racing starts this Sunday where I am the announcer and timing guy
I have a long history of being a CB750 owner. In the early eighties I bought my first one, Fixed er up to be the nicest one in my home town. Life got in the way and so I got out of biking for ten or so years, then it happened. One day I went to see a motorcycle drag race event, and there was a couple of the old 750s rippin up the dirt (yes dirt) and winning. Racing just like quarter mile racing except only 300ft, and on dirt/sand. So I went out scouring the country side for old 750s, found a few and made myself a couple of sand draggers. They are very nice, I will have pics up soon. I made them from 84 XR350s they are now XR750s with 812cc motors. We (my son & I) usually take first place with them racing, hillclimbing and we also take them up the mountains and harass all the dirt bikers, extended swingarms and paddle tires really opens eyes wide. After I made those I had an entire shop full of enough parts to make a couple of street bikes , so I did just that. I can't go anywhere without people stopping admiring and talking about them. It seems almost everyone has owned or knows someone who has owned one of these classic bikes. They still command alot of respect as every inline four on the road was spawned from this "Dawn of the Superbike" I have my new CB599 parked beside my beutifull little ol 750 and people who "don't know" sometimes ask "which one is the new one"?
