Where to get piston rings for a 350f?
« on: April 24, 2009, 12:30:36 PM »
Hi All,

Got a 1972 Honda 350 four project I'm in the middle of.  Need some stock piston rings and o-rings.  Just doing some honing.  Any 350f guys/gals out there know where to definitely find some?

My rebuild thread:

Much thanks.

I know it's not usually the first place you'd think to look when working on a 37 year old motorcycle, but have you tried Honda?  If for some reason they can't or won't get them for you, the David Silver Spares still has the OEM rings available.

Honda might have them - start there.

Are you sure you need new ones? Your rings might still be well within spec.

Thanks for the responses.  Called Honda already.  Nothing available at the moment.  I need replacements because a couple of my rings are actually broken.  David Silver has some... thanks for that advice.  I'll use them if this other vendor I found doesn't come through.  Ended up order the parts from the Netherlands.  http://www.cmsnl.com/

That's looks like a good deal on standard size rings.  What was the damage on shipping?

Hard to say exactly since I bought some other stuff too.  Good guess is that shipping is about 1/5 the total cost of the parts.
