Excellent!
I gotta get me one of these...if it draws 2.3 amps at 12.8 volts (typical at a headlight connection), then that's about 30 watts.

OK: all you CB350F riders out there: here's the bulb for you guys!!! Your stock headlight is 35 watts, so here's the one you need to see at night!

YES YOU DO! and the price is RIGHT!!! this light is freeek'n awesome i think i'm gunna LOVE ridding at night....

although it does draw 4.5amps for about 5-7 secs to charge up the balast i think the spot i installed it in was ideal for the wire length and it does come with a 1 year warrentee.. (more than a halogen) it looks like a really high quality kit it had nice instructions and a Beautiful box ;) fast, FREE, UPS shipping!

ok so here's the deal... i live in BFE.... its dark very dark i have ZERO street lights...

so i took the bike out after i posted pics of the headlight....

WOW it was amazing i could see both sides of the road CLEARLY and just on LOW beam i could see 2x farther than i could with the H4 (9003)
On Hi i could see 5x farther i took it down a straight away and dam.... i could see the end the reflector and the #'s on the reflector it was very clear not dim at the end i could see if there would of been a dear at the side of the road or down at the end....

and no the light does not "bend" corners there is still that limitation... but for a mear $100 i would do it again... and again i just cant say enough good things about this HID headlight... this is one of those things that afterwards you add it and you wonder how you ever made it without it....

i Actually FROWNED when i moved my truck last night and looked at my dim truck headlights :( it makes me want to flop down the money and put HID in my truck!

another great thing about this is that when you turn on the headlights or do any revving of the bike the headlight brightness does not change!!!

my headlight spews hate on oncoming traffic, and bursts unsuspecting drivers and their cars into flames on contact... only problem I have is cleaning ash of my goggles.

this is America, I thought we were free to do whatever we wanted!?  ;D

Any chance you could get a picture with the light pointed against a house or garage door so we can see the cutoff line?

cops seem to hate me... I get alotta tickets for public tooth display (smiling)...

I live in the middle of nowhere too, and I know where your coming from.

my headlight is so bright, it's ridiculous. but there's no cars in the oncoming lane for miles, so it doesn't matter.
and if one does come, you can always reach out and push the headlight down.

I don't know why everyone makes such a big stink about brightness. maybe they live in the city or their headlight brackets are super tight...

if you live in the city the streetlights make it so you hardly need a headlight at all.
everything I say is pure speculation and

i make a stink when it comes to POWER consumption... my thought is that the less power draw... more power... = less time the field coil is running! so more power at higher rpm... with this new headlight i get 13.5 (+or -) .2  I used to get a constant 12.8 (hi) and 13.1 or .0 with low... (@ 4-5k RPM) so there is a noticeable battery voltage increase... and its bright (to me just a side effect) its more of a safety thing with me .... to be seen....

powah!

was your battery always sorta low? Mine was when I had the k1 motor in it.
I threw a K8 in there and noticed it charges up better.
the bottom of the alternator cover was sorta crushed in on the k1 though.

i wonder if the alternator was updated between 71 and 78 cause I'm still using the 71 regulator and rectifier.

oh yeah, being seen is a good thing.

well i'm running GL1000 3 ohm coils... LED tail light LED brakelight.. LED front turns.. LED front marker... and stock gauge lights (each bulb 2.4watts..) (4bulbs) and now my HID headlight 35watts (i was running a stock H4 55,60watt)

and ALL my connectors are new (pin type) i've got them from oregonmotorcycleparts.com and they rock i've cleaned all my bullet connectors with contact cleaner and put diealectric grease in them and crimped them to make a tite connection! everythign is awesome it works pretty good battery stays plenty charged! specially for a 70's vintage bike!

In what? Quarter mile? No stock Civic would touch it. Autocross? Purely a driver's race. Road course? Same thing.

And using yellow lights is doing it wrong. I don't like my Ford. I like my SVT Contour. And there's more than a couple little things done to it...

this is really getting off topic we can discuss cars in another forum and have different opionions the important part is that we all here enjoy SOHC HONDA BIKES! at least i do ;)

anyways anyone else want to chime in on thier HID install or if they are thinking of getting one?? Only thing i can say is that V-LEDS's kit was very well put together with the best German/ jap technology (it says on the package) it was very well put together and works great i will try and get better night photo's for you guys showing the light cutoff!

Evo, thanks for the write up. I've been thinking about HID's for a while, but I hadn't seen anything definitive. I've got LED's all around my bike as well, and the charging system is O.K., but just that. I'm going to install an HID as soon as I can scare up some change.
