Newby-Finally got my dream bike after 30+ years
« on: October 27, 2005, 04:51:37 AM »
Hey everyone. Here's my story. When I was 15 or so back in the early 70's I rode a CB350 twin. All I could afford at the time. What I really wanted though was a 350 four. Well, 30 years and lots of bikes later, I came across a '74 350F in a chop shops back lot that I bought for the princely sum of $100. It kind of looked like hell, but the further I get into it, it's a real diamond in the rough. I've scored a few ebay parts, so now I've got a great winter project on my hands. I'm doing it up in cafe style, as I was really into that at the time. (and still am) We've got a really good upholstery shop here, I'm going with a soft hump on the stock seat pan. I'd like to do clubman's but my back says stick with drag bars. Some suspension upgrades, a 4 into one, and maybe some sort of flyscreen and it should be the way I want it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating in this board.

welcome, I am a newbie here myself. Not a newbie to motorcycles, nor riding. Really not a newbie to these SOHC either. Had many through my time. But what brings here is a recently got my Dad's 75 cb750 been in the barn for about 20yrs.

Congrats on your find. I am hoping I get to mine for a cruise this weekend. Really looking forward from a blast from the past ride.

I hope to get some before pics posted soon. I'm located near Vermillion, South Dakota, about 35 miles NW of Sioux City IA if anyone knows where that's at. I'm a farmer in the middle of harvest right now, the project is on hold for a while yet. Thanks for the words of welcome guys, and like I said I'm looking forward to becoming involved in the group in the future.
