I want to switch 'swine flu' to 'syphilis' and vice versa.

I want to see everyone I hate die of syphilis, and that would be a very easy way to do it.

I agree with that sentiment, and yet I just don't want to be one of the people who 'gets voted off the island' or end up as one of the scrappy, strangely dressed people in Barter Town.  I guess it's selfish, but that's just not how I'd want to go, and working where I do, odds are real good that I'd get it.

I've already expounded on natural population control in other threads.. I'm all for it, even if I'm one of the 'unlucky' folks who starts pushing up daisies.

i couldnt have put it better myself. not even a year ago i was telling the wife it's about time for another pandemic like in 1918, our population, for the most part, has been too healthy for too long.

I'd rather see people in a healthy balance with the world again than be guaranteed to live through 'whatever'.

As populations go, cities catch hell first (just like any overcrowded cage)...
A shame, really, because there go most of our most educated, our intellectuals, etc.

Yeah, soichiro. Was talking about the 1918 flu last night with some friends.

The current 'pig flu' is actually not very dangerous. Classified as h1n1 or somesuch. Same one, more or less, that caused the spanish flu (1918). With our current ability to deal with pandemics, which is quite a bit better than in 1918, shouldn't be nearly as dangerous.

having said that, and i wouldn't mind populating the would with a couple of little ecosses, i think we've been a tad too successful as a species.

there's an organization (not elf) who promotes the dying out of people all together via non reproduction.  

my gramma was born in 1918; i remember paying respects to dead family and noting all the headstones dated 1918... whole families with babies. chilling. glad my beloved gramma made it. she was the best ever.

Between 20 and 100 million died from the flu (back when the world's population was only 1.7 billion).  The 1918 flu killed more than did WWI.
