Everything I know about Zombie preparedness I learned from movies like Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, and 28 Days, and from the video game Resident Evil 2.

City of the dead ended up being a terrible movie. Drilling though his head for making out with your daughter? REALLY? come on.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing...
Brian Keene is the author.  I've heard that they were thinking of making a movie out of the books, but it surely hasn't been done yet.

I did read WWZ by Brooks.  It was good too.  I think it's going to be a movie also.

I'm just going to throw this out and hope no one gets offended...

Sometimes I wonder if "more children" is pushed to strengthen the numbers of particular groups.  Here's the best example I can think of:

Catholics.  What better way to increase your numbers (and hence, your worldly influence) than by denouncing birth control?  I'm not saying what the Catholic church teaches is wrong - just that it has a self-promoting ancillary benefit.

It seems all groups would have an interest in increasing their numbers.  It's good for those groups, but bad for supply and demand.

Of course this is the case. ALways has been. However, we've made social and religious 'rules' that only mirror and strenghten our GENETIC drive to create progeny of our own genetic makeup.

I think the genetic drive is more for individual reasons, not necessarily for the benefit of the group.  I think 'group reasons' are more cognitive in nature.  But what do I know?   ???

Genetic drive is primarily a "get my particular genes out there as much as possible", but the larger, wider sweeping urge is "get my species out there as much as possible".
No.

Maybe it's called City of the Living Dead? Either way not good. Older movie, 70s-80 porn grime going on.
I'll look into it.

Obfuscation!

It doesn't. But the physiological sensation that helps buttress the primal need to procreate exists without the actual act of procreation. People that have intercourse with animals have... issues. That's a whole other can of... worms?

Sex has long been separated from actual procreation in the minds of humans.  Otherwise people wouldn't see the point in condoms or birth control.

They are CAPABLE of seeing them in separate lights, but there is still a degree of the species-survival instinct going on, to one degree or another, in peopel as a whole (though not necessarily on an individual basis.)

I think you are confusing swine flu with late night hog farming.

Not that I have any experience to differentiate.

It would be a lot easier (though less fun) to catch the flu from her than AIDS.
